In Moscow, on Tuesday, June 23, the third stage of overcoming the restrictive measures introduced due to the epidemic of coronavirus infection COVID-19 began.

In full, catering facilities (cafes, restaurants) can begin to operate, restrictions on the operation of kindergartens, fitness clubs, swimming pools, fitness centers and travel agencies can be removed.

Also, the use of urban infrastructure is again permitted (benches, swings, street exercise machines). In addition, passenger navigation along the Moscow River opens and institutions for social protection of the population return to normal operation.

According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, this "very serious step to get out of sanitary restrictions" was affected by the improving epidemiological situation.

“Every day and every week we carefully observe and analyze the situation with coronavirus. We worry if something goes wrong. Rejoice in another victory! After the walks and summer verandas were opened, trade began to work, and then most of the other city enterprises — we, of course, rejoiced. But worried and worried too - will everything be okay? I must say that the results of the past week are very positive, ”he said.

According to him, the incidence of COVID-19 in Moscow continues to decline - compared with the second week of June (from the 8th to the 14th), the number of detected cases of coronavirus decreased by 10%. The number of cases of community-acquired pneumonia is also decreasing. In addition, on June 20, for the first time in two and a half months, less than 1000 new cases were recorded - 968.

Along with this, the load on the Moscow healthcare system is decreasing. Thus, the average number of hospitalizations decreased by about 15% - to 501 cases per day. The number of hospitalized patients decreased from 8.5 thousand to 7 thousand people. In this regard, another 5.6 thousand beds, previously re-profiled for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, returned to the system of planned medical care.

Recall that in Moscow since the end of March there has been a set of restrictions related to the spread of coronavirus infection. As the situation with COVID-19 develops, these measures are adjusted by the authorities of the capital.

So, since the beginning of June, a gradual easing of restrictions has been taking place in the city. In particular, since June 1, non-food trade has resumed in the capital, a number of service industry enterprises have been launched, and it is also possible to go for walks, including for residents of the city over 65 and citizens with chronic diseases.

From June 9, the following were removed: pass system and self-isolation mode. And a week later, from June 16, the summer verandas of cafes and restaurants, museums, exhibitions, a zoo resumed their work. In addition, restrictions on the provision of planned care in dental clinics were lifted, libraries, rental services, real estate offices, advertising, consulting and other agencies were opened.

Meanwhile, a ban on mass events remains in Moscow, theaters and cinemas are closed. According to the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, a decision on further mitigation of measures will be taken “based on an analysis of the real situation and a forecast for the development of a pandemic.”

“Believe me, I also want to remove all remaining restrictions as soon as possible. But we must not allow one rash step to cross out the results of several months of hard struggle with the pandemic, ”the mayor explained.

He said earlier that the remaining restrictive measures would be lifted no earlier than mid-July.

According to Sobyanin, in general, the Russian capital has already "returned to the usual rhythm of life."

“Much depends on the behavior of the coronavirus, which scientists do not yet fully understand. But even more depends on us. Take care of yourself and your loved ones! This is the most reliable and shortest way to defeat the infection, ”concluded Sobyanin.

The first deputy chairman of the Committee on Social Policy, Valery Ryazansky, in an interview with RT, called the next softening of restrictions in Moscow positive.

“Gradually, the rhythm of life in Moscow is restored. And such tough regulatory measures have yielded results. Now we are gradually removing restrictions and returning the situation to normal. And at the same time we do not reduce the degree of attentiveness. You can’t recklessly relate to the situation. Coronavirus lives with us, it is nearby. The degree of its impact on our health has somewhat decreased, but it has not been reduced to zero, ”the senator said.

He emphasized that everyone “needs to be careful about the future.”

“Now we need to get used to the idea that we should be more attentive to those processes that we had not been so attentive to before. I mean personal hygiene, washing vegetables and fruits, relationships based on collective gatherings and so on. That is, everything needs to be done with some degree of caution, ”Ryazansky concluded.
