The Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Directorate, Colonel Mohamed Al-Braik Al-Amri, stated that "the applicants for the driving license were educated about the dangers of abuse by including awareness of drug damage within the decisions of the Emirates Driving Company to become one of the materials that requires their knowledge to obtain a driver's license within the approved curriculum approved for the company." . 8,800 people who applied for a driver’s license benefited from the “Secret in Safety” initiative launched by the Abu Dhabi Police last March, by introducing a scientific material to educate customers of the dangers of the drug scourge through visual communication “remotely” as a condition to pass the theoretical tests presented at the Emirates Driving Company .
The initiative was implemented by the Directorate of Narcotic Drugs in the Criminal Security Sector in cooperation with the Directorate for Drivers and Vehicles Licensing, the Innovation and Future Foresight and Security Media departments, and the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination.
The Director of the Directorate of Narcotics Control in the Criminal Security Sector, Colonel Taher Gharib Al Dhaheri, stressed the importance of raising awareness of the dangers of drugs and their dire consequences for the individual and society and ways to prevent them and ways to avoid them, explaining that the initiative enhances the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Police in continuing awareness throughout the year of the dangers of this serious scourge.
He praised cooperation with partners in educating and protecting the youth category from entering the circle of abuse and addiction and limiting vehicle accidents resulting from drug use, especially the youth segment.
