The Sudanese did not pay any attention to the gathering of professionals in his shy appearance, calling for better wages days before the outbreak of the revolution on December 19, 2018, and as soon as the nascent entity led the protests, raising its ceiling, Bashir stepped down, until he had a great turnaround.

Between trade union and political tasks forms the basis of the crisis that has raged over the past hours in the body of the Sudanese professionals who led and coordinated the protests that ousted ousted President Omar al-Bashir on April 11, 2019.

The gathering met with great intelligence in the beginnings of its trade union moves to improve wages, the violent street explosion in Atbara, to announce the first procession to step down after six days on December 25, 2018.

The gathering was an inspiring facade for the frustrated youth of the parties, to form the fuel that drove the train of revolution and the candles that were burned to illuminate the path towards freedom, peace and justice.

Concealed crisis
It is likely that the gathering of professionals was the work of the opposition forces - at the time - inspired by the experience of the organizations front in the October 21, 1964 revolution that toppled the rule of former President Ibrahim Abboud, and the trade union gathering in the April 1985 uprising that ended the regime of Jaafar Nimeiri.

Since the fall of al-Bashir and his regime, a melted crisis has emerged, which has remained in the corridors of professionals bringing together calls for his bodies to build and revitalize unions that accused the isolated regime of politicizing and employing it in his favor, and views insisting on the continuation of the gathering as a political entity.

Until last year, the Sudanese Journalists Network surprised one of the founding members of the Professionals' Assembly, Al-Wasat, with a statement criticizing the situation inside the association and demanding its restructuring.

The muffled disputes continued tidal and intra-party gathering leading to the new secretarial elections on May 10, after which the data war between the constituent bodies began, and the situation became worse on Saturday with a press conference for defectors from the gathering, led by Muhammad Naji Al-Asam, one of the most prominent icons of the revolution.

The height of the crisis
The divisive situation within the caucus reached its climax by publishing leaks of audio recordings that were said to belong to Communist Party cadres inside the gathering, talking about ways to control the entity.

Journalist Ali al-Dali, a former member of the Council of Professionals on the Journalists' Network, said the audio recordings were after a gathering meeting in January 2019.

Al-Daly, in his interview with Al-Jazeera Net, suggests that these recordings were leaked by the security apparatus during the previous regime, explaining that the investigations with him during his detention were centered on the membership of the Assembly Council by name despite its secrecy.

A member of the Journalists and Professionals Association network, Adel Kler, establishes the dispute by saying that the political struggle inside the assembly is an old struggle, but it was hidden from view.

The depth of the divisions
The divisions of professionals gather more clearly within the constituent bodies, as there are several professional entities made up of more than one sign inside the assembly, due, of course, to political differences.

He informed the evidence of these differences that were apparent in the alignment of the Central Committee of "Doctors of Sudan" with the dissidents and the "Medical Syndicate" with the new secretariat for the gathering, which was repeated with two facades of engineers and veterans.

Despite accusations by dissidents, that a particular party controlled the new secretarial gathering of professionals, they seemed more eager to name this party.

According to sources speaking to Al-Jazeera Net, the accusations are leveled against the Communist Party of kidnapping the gathering of professionals through controlled interfaces such as the Medical and Engineering Associations and the Pharmacists Association.

The new secretariat of the Professionals Caucus receives the support of 11 of the constituent entities, while 6 dissident entities, headed by the Physicians Committee and the Lawyers Alliance, support the committee, while the Teachers Committee is divided between the two currents, and the Central Committee for Medical Laboratories chooses to stand neutral.

A third way
In the midst of an atmosphere of divided division within the corridors of professionals, some professional entities do not spare more good offices to contain differences.

Member of the Central Committee of Medical Laboratories, Shahinaz Jamal, said that the defection of the professional group means the defection of the professional and political base that constitutes most of the support that the gathering enjoyed in the street.

And reveals in a statement to Al Jazeera Net that its committee chose neutrality and adopted a road map for a third track in an attempt to contain the crisis that began to lose the gathering its balance of supporters, which is evident in the assembly page on Facebook, where it is subjected to widespread criticism from supporters.

Shahinaz warns that any fragmented entity will not be able to unite the street or the forces of the revolution "because the one who is missing something does not give it," noting that the six entities that chose to leave have bases inside the assembly, which represents a rupture for the mass base.

It proposes to expand and develop mechanisms and means of work that bring together professionals by networking with neighborhood resistance committees and demanding entities (29 blocs) such as the displaced and the victims of dams, "so that the assembly can accomplish 16 of its tasks from which only Bashir has been accomplished."

Several mediations - some by parties - are working to save the gathering of professionals from the specter of division before reaching the stage of no return, but there are fears that the group will fall prey to the agenda of political forces with different intentions towards it.
