The Russian Foreign Ministry supported the initiative of Egypt in Libya

According to RIA Novosti, on June 6, Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with the commander of the Libyan National Army, Marshal Khalifa Haftar and the head of the House of Representatives, Akila Saleh.

Following the meeting, the President of Egypt announced a new interlivian initiative, including a ceasefire and terms of a political settlement.

“We expected this initiative, we knew that it was being prepared. Now, having familiarized ourselves with the content of the proposals of the President of Egypt, we, of course, support any proposals aimed at the speedy end to hostilities in Libya, ”Bogdanov said.

Earlier, the UN Security Council extended the arms embargo in Libya.
