On Sunday, a demonstration in memory of American George Floyd will take place in Gothenburg. The police expect that more than 50 people will show up, which violates the government's temporary decision to allow a maximum of 50 people to be gathered at public gatherings.

Contacted the police

One of the organizers, Shahad Alhilfi, says that she did not think it would be as big as it is now expected to be.

- I started planning about four to five days ago and it was a spontaneous thing from the beginning. But when it got so much interest, I contacted the police and brought in friends who help me plan.

"Not here to attack the police"

She says that she was first shocked by the pictures of the police's actions during the demonstration in Stockholm, which spread on social media and on news sites.

- But then I heard from friends who were there that the police were very provoked. What happened in Stockholm should not happen here. We are not there to attack the police, but to have our voices heard, she says.

Bet on live broadcast

The organizer and the police for discussions on how to limit the spread of infection during the demonstration. On the event's Facebook page, organizers have invited to participate in the demonstration by watching a live broadcast from the site, instead of going there. This is to try to limit the number of people on site.

- But I cannot guarantee that there will be no more than 50 people, says Shahad Ahlilfi.
