June 5, 2020 He had not resigned himself to the end of the story with the now ex-partner and, thus, a 49-year-old Roman employee put in place a plan worthy of a psychological thriller. For months he continued to send e-mails and disturbing messages to his ex-girlfriend with death threats for himself and his loved ones, trying to put the blame on another man who had had a sentimental relationship with her. To try to divert attention from his person, the man had also pretended to be the victim, himself, of persecutory actions, denouncing in turn that he had received messages of the same tenor. Messages that he also sent himself from devices he had available for work reasons.

For a long time the victim, terrified, had had to change his habits since the stalker seemed to know his every move. Continuous calls, abusive access to e-mail and work portals, intrusions on messaging apps, the persecutor showed great familiarity with IT media and put multiple methods in place to create a state of terror in women. Having achieved his purpose, he had risen to the victim's protector, showing concern for the fate of the victim and, once again gaining his trust, he even accompanied her to the police offices to make her complain about the complaints. The thoughtful behavior had not left the woman to whom she had managed to make the void around indifferent, convincing her not to trust others, all in an attempt to be able to return with her. The staging, however, did not convince the investigators of the State police of the Lazio Postal and Communications Department, coordinated by the prosecutor Claudia Alberti of the public prosecutor's office at the court of Rome who were able to trace the true identity of the stalker. The magistrate, recognizing his marked social danger, ordered house arrest for him. The man will have to answer, as well as for the persecutory acts, also for the crimes of abusive access to the computer system, receiving stolen goods and simulating the crime.
