A Jordanian judicial source revealed today that the State Security Court in Jordan recently started the trial of five Jordanians, against the background of planning suicide attacks against Israeli targets in the occupied West Bank.

"The State Security Court recently began the trial of five people accused of involvement in a terrorist plot foiled by the General Intelligence Department last February," and "planning of suicide attacks against Israeli targets in the occupied West Bank," the source said.

He pointed out that the accused, whose names were not revealed, were arrested last February and the operation was not announced at the time.

The source pointed out that the charges against the detainees are "threatening to carry out terrorist acts by using explosive materials", "making explosive materials intended for unlawful use", and "recruiting people to join armed groups."

According to the indictment, one of the defendants who visited the West Bank in 2007 received training in Gaza about manufacturing belts, explosive devices, lightning strikes, etc., and he returned to Jordan in 2010.

In 2017, the accused recruited the other four defendants, according to the indictment, and then the five accused "planned to enter the West Bank and carry out explosive devices against buses and trains and with explosive belts against other Israeli targets."

The source stated that the first suspect arrested in February admitted his plan and those involved with him, and they were all arrested.
