China announced yesterday that it recorded the largest daily increase in cases of coronavirus in nearly three weeks, by monitoring 16 new cases within 24 hours, in a jump for cases from abroad in Sichuan Province in the southwest of the country.
In a statement yesterday, the Chinese National Health Commission said that all new cases are for travelers from abroad, 11 of whom are in Sichuan.
The data showed that the total number of HIV infections in China reached 83,017, while the number of deaths remains steady at 4,634.
About 400,000 students in the Chinese capital, from primary, middle and high school levels, returned to schools in Beijing yesterday.
The Chinese newspaper "China Daily" said that the returning students are students from the sixth grade of the elementary stage, the first and second grades of the preparatory stage, and the first and second grades of the secondary stage.
Students in China spent the longest winter vacation period due to the outbreak of the "Corona" epidemic, after which they received their educational lessons through the Internet.
