58 people were fined in Paris this Saturday for blocking traffic on the Champs-Elysées as part of a "demand action", announced the Prefecture of Police. A few dozen activists demonstrated on the avenue at the call of Extinction Rebellion France.
The rally was organized "in compliance with the standards of health safety distances," said the organization on its Twitter account. The Prefecture of Police recalls, however, that "gatherings of more than 10 people on the public highway remain prohibited" in the context of deconfinement. Police thus dislodged the demonstrators without using tear gas, show images filmed by journalist Rémy Busine on his Twitter account.

Extinction Rebellion called on its members to gather in Paris, Vannes (Hauts-de-Seine), Chambéry, Reunion and "in other cities of France" to express "their needs in the next world".
