Niger: overwhelming revelations on the audit of the Ministry of Defense

The audit of the Ministry of Defense certainly dates back to February 17, but we now know the details, thanks to revelations from the Mondafrique website which obtained the 53-page document of which only a few sheets had hitherto leaked.

An example is the contract for the purchase of a missile protection system for the presidential aircraft. The contract was concluded in 2015. More than four million euros were paid to the signatory company, a false delivery slip and a false acceptance report were found, the device was never installed on it. the device.
Investigators also denounce contracts signed for the maintenance of helicopters, or an order deemed inappropriate for 154 trucks.
No politician or defense sector official is singled out. On the other hand, the main beneficiaries of the fraud are suppliers close to the government. The two most important are Hima Aboubacar, known as Petit Boubé, a billionaire who alone concentrates the majority of the files concerned. In second position is Aboubacar Charfo, also pinned for over-invoicing and undelivered equipment.
