　　Solving the Taiwan issue and realizing the complete reunification of the motherland is one of the three historical tasks of the Communist Party of China. For a long time, we have made unremitting efforts for it. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has profoundly summarized the historical laws and the experience of the development of cross-strait relations and formed an important exposition on the work on Taiwan. General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the 40th anniversary commemoration of the "Report to Taiwan Compatriots" on January 2 last year, comprehensively expounding the major policy propositions for advancing the peaceful reunification of the motherland in the great journey of national rejuvenation based on the new era. 　　However, for some time, the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces have misjudged the situation and have continued to provoke, seriously damaging the vital interests of compatriots on both sides and the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation, seriously undermining the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, and seriously challenging our bottom line in maintaining national sovereignty and territorial integrity. All Chinese children must unite, resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" separatist activities, jointly safeguard the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, and jointly advance the process of peaceful reunification of the motherland.

　　First, "Taiwan independence" separatist activities openly challenge the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation, and we must resolutely contain the blow. Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory. From the Chinese people ’s thousands of years of development of Taiwan ’s historical documents under the jurisdiction of successive governments to the Cairo Declaration, the Potsdam Proclamation, the United Nations Resolution 2758 and other international announcements, to our country ’s Constitution and the Anti-Secession Law. 　　The "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and their activities have always been the biggest obstacle to the development of cross-strait relations and have always threatened peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. The course of development of cross-strait relations has repeatedly proven that by adhering to the "92 Consensus" and opposing "Taiwan independence," cross-strait relations can be improved and developed, and Taiwan compatriots can benefit. Denying the "92 Consensus" and deviating from the one-China principle will lead to tension and turbulence in cross-strait relations and harm the vital interests of Taiwan compatriots.
