Guterres called on all parties to join the peace process in Afghanistan and reaffirmed the UN commitment to supporting the people and government of the country.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg approved of the decision of the Taliban and the Afghan authorities to temporarily cease fire.
US Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad called on the Taliban to continue implementing bilateral agreements.
