Many people today choose not to take driving lessons and read theory at a traffic school. In the statistics, most people in this group can find it difficult to pass the first run-up and theory test at the Swedish Transport Administration.

- Of all privately reported driving tests B, for passenger cars and light trucks, in the country, in 2019, 31.53 percent of the driver's tests were approved, compared to 65 percent for traffic school-reported driveways, says Cecilia Borgljung, department manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

- There are catastrophically poor statistics among privately educated and a threat to road safety. We have seen a downward trend throughout the 2000s, ”says Berit Johansson, associate chair of the Swedish traffic trainers' national association.

Re-examination requires resources

If you look at last year's regional figures, the driver tests for B-driving licenses made in Eskilstuna show that almost four out of ten who drive privately pass the test. Compared to just under seven out of ten who drive with a traffic school.

- It is true that statistics for traffic school registered customers generally look better than for private registered users. We like to see our customers come only once. Many re-tests mean that more resources are needed and we want our customers to be well prepared, says Cecilia Borgljung.
