Most of the corona-infected persons are found in elderly homes in Helsingborg, where the number amounts to 76. In Malmö, the number of corona-infected is 41, in Kristianstad 18 and in Burlöv 15. Other municipalities are reported to have fewer than 10 infected persons.
Due to patient confidentiality, Region Skåne states only the total number of infected persons infected in elderly homes for each municipality and only if the number exceeds 10 infected persons. Which of these accommodation is Region Skåne does not want to report, but refers to the respective principal.
How many sick people who have died from covid-19 in elderly homes and LSS housing in Skåne are difficult to say exactly when the Region of Skåne only records the deceased in hospitals.
Hard to get an overviewThe total number of deceased in Skåne is reported to SmiNet by Region Skåne (for deaths in hospitals) and by the municipalities (for deaths in elderly and LSS housing).
In an email to SVT, the region's press secretary Jimmy Gottfridsson writes: “By the exclusion method we can calculate how many in Skåne have died outside hospitals, but we are not the ones who register these cases. According to this method, 39 out of 110 have died with established covid-19 in Skåne having died outside hospitals. "
It is also worth noting that people in elderly homes who became ill in covid-19 and who were subsequently sent to hospitals and deceased there are counted as deceased in hospitals.
For the exact number of deceased persons in elderly housing per municipality, Region Skåne refers to the respective municipality.
