On Tuesday, May 12, in Moscow and the Moscow Region, it becomes mandatory to wear masks outside the home - at work, at retail outlets, as well as in public transport and taxis. Moreover, from May 1, the mask regime in the Moscow region was of a recommendatory nature.

“The use of masks, respirators or other respiratory protective equipment, as well as gloves, will be mandatory in stores, shopping centers, as well as when traveling on any kind of public transport and taxi,” explained Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. “By requiring the mandatory use of protective equipment, we are not strengthening the restrictions, but, on the contrary, we are making a huge step towards a return to normal life.”

According to him, the wearing of masks and gloves is recommended by sanitary doctors due to the fact that from May 12, in particular, an increase in the number of passengers in public transport is expected. This is due to the fact that enterprises related to the manufacturing, industrial and construction sectors of the economy will resume work.

“Together, this will give work to half a million people who today are forced to stay at home,” the mayor of the capital explained on May 7.

At the same time, residents of Moscow who use the services of the Center for Passenger Mobility of Mobility (CSC) of the Moscow metro will be given out masks and gloves for free if they don’t have them with them.

According to the Moscow City Hall, almost 1.5 points of sale of masks and gloves were organized at metro stations and at the box office of suburban traffic.

At the same time, Yevgeny Danchikov, the head of the Main Control of the capital, said that Rospotrebnadzor employees can verify compliance with the mask regime at enterprises whose activities have been allowed since May 12.

“In enterprises and organizations whose work is permitted, in accordance with the requirements of the chief sanitary inspector, a mask regime must be provided, the fine for non-compliance with which will amount to 4 thousand rubles,” TASS quoted him as saying.

In this case, the penalty for the absence of masks and gloves for passengers of public transport will amount to 5 thousand rubles. The corresponding sanctions are enshrined in the decree of the mayor of April 2.

At the same time, in the Moscow region, authorities in the region have now postponed the introduction of fines for violation of the mask regime.

“We have delayed the punishment. If you do not have a mask after May 12, you will not be fined, they will make a remark to you. But most people today already understand that without a mask and gloves you can ride the subway, only this road will go to the hospital right away, ”explained Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov in an interview with Rossiya 24 television channel.

At the same time, he added that residents of the region over 65 will be able to purchase personal protective equipment in state pharmacies at a reduced price, which will amount to 11 rubles per mask.

As Anna Krotova, First Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow Region, said, masks can be bought not only in pharmacies and retail outlets, but also at ground transportation stops. The cost of products will be 29 rubles.

“At the bus station and bus stations“ Mostransavto ”from May 12, disposable masks will go on sale. It will also be possible to purchase masks at 32 vending machines at bus stations and bus stations of the carrier, “360” quotes her.

Note that the mask mode is already in effect in most regions of Russia. Moreover, from Tuesday it also becomes mandatory, among other things, in St. Petersburg, Crimea, Murmansk, Chelyabinsk and Kaliningrad regions.

As indicated in the Rospotrebnadzor, masks must be changed after two to three hours of use. In this case, disposable products made of nonwoven material are not subject to reuse. At the same time, the used mask should be disposed of by placing it in a separate bag and tightly closing it, and then discarding it in the bin.

Along with this, the Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko explained that the introduction of the mask regime can be regarded as one of the steps to weaken restrictive measures.

“The mask is actually the element that allows us to move towards normalizing our lives,” the minister said.
