“On May 9, 1945, after a fierce battle, the Red Army saved the capital of Czechoslovakia, Prague, from Nazi occupation. By the 75th anniversary of this historic date, the Russian Defense Ministry’s website has launched a new multimedia section, “The Last Battle Before the Victory,” the press release says.

The section contains previously unpublished military journals, the plan of the Prague offensive operation, orders, reports, award sheets, as well as documents and certificates on restoring peaceful life and supplying the city with food.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense declassified archival documents about the operation of the Soviet troops to liberate Berlin in 1945.

The Zvezda TV channel also broadcast that the Russian Ministry of Defense presented the historical project “The past fires of the war, you gave your talent to people”, where award documents of cultural and art workers participating in the Great Patriotic War were published.
