The total amount of funds announced by more than 30 countries and regions, including Japan, amounted to around € 7.4 billion (more than ¥ 860 billion) in one day.

The funds raised will be used for vaccine development and manufacturing through the CEIP = Infectious Disease Epidemic Innovation Alliance, a global collaboration for vaccine development.
