Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has reduced the number of passengers using the Dubai Metro by 78.4% per train for all trips, as part of its implementation of a number of precautionary measures to limit the spread of the new Corona virus.

The Director General of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Mattar Al Tayer, through the authority’s digital platforms, said that the number of passengers has been reduced from about 643 passengers to 138 passengers in each of the Dubai Metro trains, as part of the authority’s role in supporting efforts at the emirate level To fight the virus.

Al Tayer pointed to reducing the number of passengers using the taxi, to limit only two passengers in the back seat of each vehicle, pointing to installing health isolation separators on the taxi board, to isolate the driver from the passengers, and to ensure the highest levels of protection for its users.

Al Tayer stressed that the Dubai Metro and public transportation are subject to daily cleaning and sterilization operations, in addition to applying a set of measures that include determining specific seats for passengers to be used, whether inside the train or on public buses, to ensure that a safe distance is kept between them, as well as laying ground signs in Trains and buses remind passengers of the obligation to leave a distance between them.

The Dubai Metro was shut down between March 26 and April 25 last, so that the metro will return to work again, under strict precautionary conditions and measures, applied inside the stations and on the flights, and include obliging passengers to wear the muzzle during the use of all types of public transport, while being at its sites and in the dependent facilities to her.

The Dubai Metro currently operates from seven in the morning until 11 in the evening, from Saturday to Thursday, and from 10 in the morning until 11 in the evening on Fridays.

The sterilization teams during the period of national sterilization carried out intensive sterilization operations of the stations and their facilities, as well as the trains and their vehicles with all their internal and external details, and the authority confirmed its continuation in the daily cleaning and sterilization operations of the metro and all public transportation, as well as taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. The authority stressed that the public's use of all forms of public transportation obliges them to apply the prescribed and applicable preventive requirements, and that any violation of the procedures and conditions followed exposes them to legal accountability and violation.

Activating the mobile happiness center

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has announced the activation of the service of “The Mobile Happiness Center”, as a new channel that contributes to diversifying and facilitating services to the public, especially those of concern, senior citizens and residents, to raise the satisfaction rate and indicators of customer happiness. The Customer Happiness Center offers six main services: vehicle registration service, vehicle renewal service that needs to be examined, vehicle possession certificate service, vehicle ownership transfer service, vehicle travel service and transfer and export transaction service. To date, the service has been provided to 220 customers across 51 regions in the Emirate of Dubai.

The service is submitted three days before the desired date, through "WhatsApp" No. 0564146777, where the customer specifies his name and location to reach the bus to the destination he wants to receive the service, noting that the bus will provide its services during the holy month of Ramadan from eight in the evening. To 12:00 am, by receiving the bus for each customer separately, as it will be sterilized before entering the bus, which in turn will be sterilized after the completion of each transaction, within the framework of the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the state and the Emirate of Dubai to limit the spread of the Corona virus. .

The authority confirmed that the bus is equipped with self-service equipment without the need for the customer to enter the employees except when necessary, as there is an employee for this purpose to help owners of determination, senior citizens and residents when necessary.
