The "Prisoners of Conscience" account in Saudi Arabia stated that Alia Al-Hathloul, sister of the detainee, Jane Al-Hathloul, received a death threat message for her sister who and other activists in the defense of women's rights were arrested and tried.

The account of the prisoners of conscience stated in a tweet on Twitter that the message that Alia received is that Lujain will be imprisoned in prison the fate of Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamid, who died last Friday in his prison because of "a deliberate health negligence that led him to a stroke that killed his life," according to the same source.

Alia Al-Hathloul had earlier warned that her sister might be liquidated inside Saudi prisons, and her family revealed in mid-August that she had rejected an offer to release her in exchange for a video statement denying reports of her being tortured while in detention.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi authorities arrested more than a year ago human rights activist Jane Al-Hathloul and more than 12 activists in the field of defending women's rights in Saudi Arabia.

For her part, the head of the Human Rights Committee in the European Parliament, Mary Arena, said that the Saudi authorities were aware of the deteriorating health status of Saudi human rights activist Abdullah Al-Hamid since the beginning of this year, expressing her shock at his death in his prison in Saudi Arabia.

Arena described the denial of detainees the right medical care, as a violation of the right to life, and that it is a form of cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, saying that it is an unacceptable moral error.

She added that Al-Hamid was one of the leading voices in the field of human rights in Saudi Arabia, and one of the advocates of Saudi recognition of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and also affirmed that Al-Hamid devoted his life to protecting all defenders of fundamental rights and freedoms in his country.

In turn, the campaign official in Front Line Defenders, an international human rights organization, said in a previous interview with Al-Jazeera that the Saudi authorities had deliberately neglected the health of Abdullah Al-Hamid.

He added that the matter applies to other human rights defenders, such as Lujain Al-Hathloul.
