The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, rejects the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) that the Government will present in May to help people with difficulties to meet their basic expenses, because she considers it a "gift" that creates the beneficiaries dependence on the state and is a tool "to equalize downward."

Speaking during a visit this Saturday to the Madrid Institute for Rural, Agrarian and Food Research and Development (Imidra), and forwarded to the media, Ayuso thus rejects the IMV that the Government will present and recalls that Madrid already has the Minimum Insertion Income ( REMI) that "helps and accompanies" people during the duration of "their vulnerable situation".

"These grants must be understood as a lever towards employment; they cannot perpetuate people waiting and depending eternally on the State," Díaz Ayuso has censured.

In the opinion of the head of the Madrid Executive, all people and all families want to get ahead "in life" and "be free", and "be subsidized in an eternal way", in her opinion, does not guarantee it, and makes that people "depend on the state".

"It is nothing more than a tool to equalize the downside," Diaz Ayuso has criticized, recalling that the minimum insertion income is "levers for employment", not like the State IMV.

"People want their job, they want to have their goals, they want to conquer their dreams, they do not want to be forever at home, dependent on a subsidy and a gift, when what they need is to have a job to direct their lives in their own way", has settled.

The Minimum Life Income that the central Government foresees will complement the minimum income of insertion of the communities, which in 2018 supposed an expense of more than 1,500 million euros.
