The crash occurred during a scheduled flight. It is noted that in one of the MiG-31 engines a fire occurred after take-off.

“After receiving a command for ejection, military pilots directed the aircraft into the field, away from the village and, making sure that nothing threatens the civilian population, the crew ejected,” the RIA Novosti quoted the Ministry as saying.

The defense department said that the pilots are alive. A commission has been appointed to investigate the causes of the emergency.

At the end of March, when a Russian training aircraft L-39 crashed in the Krasnodar Territory, a pilot died.
