A dramatic traffic accident claimed the life of a man in his forties Thursday evening in the town of La Couyère, south of Janzé (Ille-et-Vilaine). The victim, who was traveling on a motorcycle, struck a stationary car on departmental 47 around 9 p.m.

Alerted, the firefighters took care of the injured. The biker, who hit the car head on, died. Two passengers in the car were taken care of for minor injuries. The third passenger is unharmed.

The biker was driving too fast

According to the gendarmes, the accident resulted from a refusal of priority. The car would have entered the departmental when the biker arrived. Initial findings suggest that the driver of the two-wheeler was traveling at excessive speed.

Since the start of containment, the gendarmes and police have been repeating their vigilance on the roads. Deserted, the traffic routes of Ille-et-Vilaine and elsewhere regularly see significant speeding. Tuesday, 15 major speeding incidents were recorded in one hour on the Rennes ring road, including a motorist who was traveling at more than 160 km / h.
