The Supreme National Committee for Volunteerism Organizing during Crises held its first meeting remotely, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Chairman of the Emirates Foundation Board, following the approval of the Council of Ministers to form the committee and its tasks.

Abdullah bin Zayed:

Today, we are stronger by joining together, cooperating with our people, and with the support of our residents.

- "History will remember the exceptional role of the one who sacrificed ... to overcome the crisis."

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan launched the "Emirates Volunteer" campaign, to unify the voluntary activities at the state level, with both types: field and virtual.

His Highness stressed the necessity of strengthening and concerting efforts of all, in light of the exceptional importance of the current stage, which the world and the UAE are going through, during the confrontation with the "Covid-19" virus.

His Highness said, "The UAE is the homeland of all citizens and residents, and we are able to address any challenges we face with cohesion and cooperation."

And His Highness continued, “We are keen, in cooperation with the concerned authorities at the present stage, to document our national experience. History will mention the exceptional role of the various bodies, their employees and volunteers, and the sacrifices they made and efforts to overcome the current circumstances. ”

His Highness added, "Today we are stronger, through our solidarity and cooperation of our people ... and all residents with us support the continuity of work and responsibility, in order to preserve the gains of the homeland and the safety of its residents."

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan pointed out the necessity of developing a clear and coherent framework for regulating volunteering in the country, as well as developing a platform for "volunteers. Emirates", to be a flexible platform that accommodates the needs of all society in the voluntary sector in the country, stressing his highness the importance of the "Emirates Volunteering" campaign that contributes To adopt and support volunteers at the state level.

His Highness pointed out the importance of following up and monitoring the public’s opinions, opening channels of communication with all groups of society, in a way that supports the leadership’s vision, and working as a team to support the government's priorities in the current stage.

The campaign was launched in cooperation with the governmental, semi-governmental, voluntary and private sectors.

The parties involved in the campaign include government agencies, such as: the Ministry of Community Development, the Ministry of Cabinet and Future Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Community Development Department, the Health Department in Abu Dhabi, the media office of the Government of Abu Dhabi, the National Information Council, and “Abu Dhabi Media” and the Abu Dhabi Education Center Technical and vocational training, the National Program for Happiness and Quality of Life, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), and the Abu Dhabi Government Academy.

It also includes semi-governmental entities, such as: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and the Emirates Telecommunications Company (Etisalat), and «Etihad Airways», and the third sector destinations for public benefit, such as: Emirates Foundation, the Emirates Red Crescent, in addition to other parties, Such as: HQ Worldwide Shows LLC

Two types of volunteering

The UAE Volunteer campaign, the national campaign to adopt and support volunteers at the state level, allows two types of volunteering: the field and the virtual.

The campaign aims to harness the skills and talents of members of society, to protect and preserve the health of the most affected groups.
