In addition, she believes that Norway was quick with far-reaching measures to limit the infection, for example, the schools were closed at an early stage.

According to Stoltenberg, there is also a strong popular support behind the restrictions in Norway:

- People have been involved in various ways and are actively contributing to ensuring compliance with the measures. In many places, people even go beyond what the law requires of them.

Gradual relief

On April 6, Norway's Minister of Health Bent Høie (Høyre) announced that it is in control of the spread of infection in the country and that the restrictions should therefore gradually be eased after Easter.

According to statistics from the Johns Hopkins Institute, Norway currently has 19 deceased persons in coronas infection per million inhabitants. In Sweden, the corresponding figure is 67.5, ie more than three times as high mortality.

Long time left

But it is still too early to say that Norway has succeeded better than other countries, Camilla Stoltenberg says:

- It is difficult to say what is due to luck or that the countries are at different stages of the epidemic. So I fit in to be arrogant or contradictory - it is a long time before we know which measures were really successful.
