Men's basketball Euro-2021 will take place in late summer 2022 due to the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the Euro ladies in France is maintained at the end of June 2021, said Thursday Fiba in a press release.

The Men's Euro was to take place in four countries, Germany, Italy, Georgia and the Czech Republic from August 17 to September 1, 2021, just after the new dates of the Games (July 23 to August 8). It is now scheduled between September 1 and September 18, 2022, a summer during which no major competition was on the program.

The Ladies' Euro (June 17-27), the first round of which is to be held in Spain and France and the final stages at Paris-Bercy, will therefore serve as the test gallop for the Games. The Women's World Cup in Australia will take place from September 22 to October 1, 2022.

The men's Olympic qualification tournaments will be contested between June 22 and July 4, 2021.

In basketball, France already has its ticket for Tokyo for men and women.
