The bill is published in the electronic database of the State Duma.

“... the bill proposes to exclude the requirement that the applicant apply for Russian citizenship to the competent authority of a foreign state with a statement about the renunciation of his other citizenship,” the explanatory note says.

Earlier, the head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov said that the government bill on simplifying the acquisition of Russian citizenship provides for relief for residents of Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Kazakhstan.

Kalashnikov also called the "main advantage" of the project on simplified citizenship.
