The UAE has sent an aid plane carrying about 10 tons of various medical and preventive supplies to Italy, which will benefit about 10 thousand medical workers, to support it in the face of the emerging Corona virus (Covid-19).
This initiative comes within the framework of the UAE’s cooperation with countries that witness the outbreak of the new Corona virus, and in order to enhance global efforts to limit its spread.
The UAE’s ambassador to the Italian Republic, Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, said, “Since its establishment, the UAE has committed to the approach of giving to countries and peoples in distress and crises. The epidemic, which reflects the originality of the human approach in Emirati politics, which has always stood as a leadership and a people alongside nations and peoples in difficult times. ”
He added that «this assistance comes within the framework of the initiatives undertaken by the UAE under the guidance of our wise leadership to help combat the outbreak of the new Corona virus, as it reached a helping hand to many parts of the world that included cooperation with the World Health Organization, in addition to providing a number of countries among them China, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan and Seychelles with the necessary medical materials, relief materials and necessities, and all forms of support to overcome this crisis ».
For his part, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi de Mayo said, “This grant from the UAE is a symbol of solidarity between the two countries and an important aid for doctors, nurses and health personnel. Themselves and save the lives of many of the injured. ”
