The corresponding order is published on the website of the ministry.

“Support the initiative of telecom operators and conduct an experiment to provide citizens of Russia with free of charge communication services for data transfer and providing access to the information and telecommunication network Internet in Russia for the use of socially significant information resources from April 1, 2020 to July 1, 2020”, - the document says.

Participants in the experiment on a voluntary basis were Rostelecom, MTS, Vimpelcom, Megafon and ER-Telecom. The presented list is divided into 19 categories. The “Online Media and News Aggregators” category also included the RT website.

The order states that the demand for resources was determined on the basis of publicly available data on their attendance.

The list may change, but not more often than once a week.

Earlier, the first deputy head of the presidential administration Sergei Kiriyenko said that free access to some services from personal computers will be introduced from April 1.

On January 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin, within the framework of the annual message to the Federal Assembly, proposed to implement the Accessible Internet project throughout the country with free access to socially significant domestic services.

The Ministry of Communications noted that the department is discussing free access to a number of sites in Russia as part of this project.
