Former Taiz Governor Ali Al-Ma’amari warned against the recruitment process by UAE forces for some people from Al-Hajriya regions, and the distribution of weapons and money, in preparation for battles in Taiz (western Yemen) to overthrow the legitimacy.

Al-Maamari said today - in a post on his Facebook account - that forces belonging to the United Arab Emirates and do not follow the legitimate government in the coasts of Taiz conduct settlement operations to change the demographics, rent houses, and finance individuals who support the coup against the legitimate authority.

The former Governor of Taiz indicated that the UAE-backed Republican Guard is extending its control over the lands of citizens in the coasts of Taiz, and is conducting a settlement process for demographic change and permanent control of the areas of the province's coast. These areas include the cities: Al-Mokha, Bab Al-Mandab, Dhubab, Al-Waziyah, and Mawza.

Al-Maamari also accused these forces of attracting members of the government forces south of Taiz Governorate, and distributing weapons and money to create a bloody conflict in the province.

Protests
The demonstrations in Taiz last month called for the need to end the siege imposed by the Houthis on the city for nearly four years, and to address the military formations supported by the Emirates, which is represented in the "Abu Abbas" brigades.

Yemeni political activist Fuad Al-Hameeri said that what is happening in Taiz is clear for some time, and is a prelude to striking the city from the inside, after the failure of the attempt to topple it from the outside.

Al-Hameeri explained to Al-Jazeera that the UAE had tried in previous years to control Taiz by covering its charitable organizations, then through armed militias, and then through assassination cells that in the past period killed several figures inside the city.

After these attempts failed - the same spokesman adds - Abu Dhabi established a security belt in Taiz, similar to the security belt in Aden, and when this attempt was not successful, the UAE crossed its militias to bite into the outskirts of the city of Taiz and strangled them by land and sea via the Mukha port.
