China new car sales Japanese automakers recover 4:49 on April 4

Japanese automakers' vehicle sales in China have been recovering last month compared to February, when the impact of the new coronavirus was severe.

Toyota Motor Corporation announced last month that it sold 101,800 vehicles in China last month, down 15.9% from the same month last year.

However, the rate of decline improved by 54 points compared to February, when most stores were closed due to the new coronavirus.

In addition, Mazda's sales volume last month was down 28.3% compared to the same month last year, a decrease of more than 50 points compared to February.

On the other hand, Honda's unit sales were down 50.8% from last year, a decrease of more than 34 points, but only a slight improvement compared to the other two companies.

For the Chinese market as a whole, unit sales for the six months to June are forecast to decrease by about 25% compared to the same period last year, and the overall industry is expected to remain severe for the time being.
