Belgian international defender Thomas Meunier, at the end of his contract this summer, wants to "stay" at Paris SG, he insisted to RTBF, while explaining that the clubs interested in his profile would not make a "bad purchase ".

"Everyone knows that my main goal is always to stay in Paris, but for now it's pretty calm. We will see by the end of the season," said the semi-finalist of the 2018 World Cup in a live video with a journalist from the Belgian media.

The ex-Club Brugge player has said that rumors sending him next season at Borussia Dortmund have not been proven.

"I have seen as many articles linking me with Tottenham or Inter as with Dortmund, but it is always their supporters who show themselves the most ... I do not understand this enthusiasm," he said. amused.

If his Parisian adventure were to end, many clubs could call on his services, he assured in a playful tone.

"A free player, international in the world N.1 team (in the Fifa ranking) and who is 28 years old, it cannot be a bad buy", says Meunier of himself. "Even if I get gangrene and someone has to cut my leg, they won't have a lot of money to lose, they just have to win and the clubs know that."

Whatever happens, he hopes that the current season will come to an end, while PSG is leading the French Championship, qualified in the final of the two national cups and in the quarter-final of the Champions League.

"It could be a fantastic season if all the matches were to resume," he said, ensuring that "on paper" Paris has "a team to go all the way" in the European Cup.

During confinement, the Belgian said he spent "very pleasant" moments with his wife and their three sons in Paris.

"Seeing our children 24 hours a day is just a blessing, I take great pleasure in being at home".
