Coronavirus: Indians forced to choose trees to confine themselves - 20 Minutes

On March 24, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered the total containment of the country. 1.3 billion people are asked to stay at home for at least three weeks.

In New Delhi, the sound of horns was replaced in a few hours by the chirping of birds. Following the Prime Minister's announcement, many workers wanted to return to their villages to stay with their families.

Makeshift beds in trees

In some villages, family homes cannot accommodate everyone, while respecting the social distancing measures recommended by the authorities. Also, Indians find themselves forced to install makeshift beds in trees to be able to isolate themselves.
