The Nineveh Operations Command announced the withdrawal of American forces from all their military positions inside the presidential palaces north of Mosul, and the official Iraqi TV reported that the US-led international coalition forces had handed over their headquarters in the Nineveh Governorate to the Iraqi army, amid official ceremonies.

A security source in Nineveh had announced, last Thursday, the withdrawal of US forces from the largest air base in the province, which is the "Qayyarah" base, also amid ceremonies for this withdrawal, and he said that it only kept an artillery battalion and soldiers from the Special Forces.

To that, the Popular Mobilization Forces announced that they had repulsed an attack by ISIS west of Anbar, in the far west of Iraq, after ISIS operatives had tried to attack the Hashd sectors in the Akashat region, and stated that the attack resulted in the injury of two border guards from the Popular Mobilization.

In a related context, the head of the Iraqi caretaker government, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, said in a statement yesterday that "illegal actions targeting Iraqi military bases or foreign representations are targeting Iraqi sovereignty and transgressing the state." He pointed out that "the government is following with concern information about the presence of unauthorized flights, near military areas, and we are taking all possible measures to pursue the perpetrators and prevent them from carrying out these actions." The Supreme ». Abdul-Mahdi stressed that "efforts should be directed to fight (ISIS), establish security and order, support the state and government, and address the Corona epidemic," calling for "the cessation of violations and unilateral actions, and respect for all of the Iraqi laws and sovereignty."
