If the polling stations of the capital seem to have all opened according to electoral observers, voter cards and essential electoral material were missing in Bamako, according to Cocem, the Coalition for Citizen Observation of the elections in Mali .

Not all voting centers were equipped with hand washing stations. Despite the recommendations of the health authorities, barrier gestures such as the distance of one meter between each voter were not respected this Sunday.

Twenty cases in Bamako

About twenty cases of coronavirus have been identified mainly in Bamako, home of the epidemic in Mali. A person has already died of the disease, before being diagnosed and taken care of by health structures.

This pandemic seems in any case to have frightened the Malian voters. For the moment, the participation figures are not yet available, but many of them assumed their abstention.
