Faced with the concern of breeders, market gardeners, farmers of the lack of seasonal workers and the loss of their production, a platform was created. Called "Arms for Your Plate", it has already allowed many volunteers to apply to support farmers in need.

Among them, Anthony, a confined 22-year-old student who wants to be useful. At the microphone of Europe 1, he confides his desire to help the agricultural world: "Seeing everything that is happening in the country and in the world, today, with the requisition of medical students or other, I I felt a little useless to stay in my apartment doing nothing and I really wanted to support the French economy and the Republic ", he explains, citing, for example, the employees of supermarkets and the staff hospital. "If it's in good conditions with respect for sanitary rules, I think it's something that could be really interesting and very useful," he adds.

170,000 registered candidates

And Anthony is not the only one who wants to help. In fact, 170,000 people have already applied on the platform managed by ANEFA and Pôle Emploi. No need for special skills, you just have to fill in a CV to indicate what you can do, details on Europe 1 Samuel Vandaele, farmer in Seine-et-Marne and President of young farmers in France. "The objective is to be able to go directly to the fields to harvest strawberries, asparagus, fruits and vegetables because we are very afraid of running out of labor. We are already running out of them. Today we need to feed the whole population because it is also vital to fight the virus, "he warns.
