The Ministry of Education, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, and the Sharjah Private Education Authority stressed the need for all efforts to join hands to make the Distance Learning Initiative a success that is currently a priority.

In detail, Hisham Omran (the father of two students) said that his son’s school is satisfied with only recording video clips that include the subjects specified in the curricula of the subjects, without any communication between teachers and students, adding that this method of remote teaching will not be sufficiently beneficial.

He pointed out that he tried to communicate with the school to no avail, calling on the Ministry and the Education Authority to define schools for one method of distance learning.

Abeer Ali (the mother of two students) stressed that the biggest challenge for middle-income families with multiple children is to provide a computer for each of their children, especially as private schools do not provide their students with computers that they use in the remote learning system.

For its part, the Ministry of Education stressed the necessity of joining all efforts, whether by private and public schools, teachers or students and their families, to make the remote learning initiative successful, which is a top priority at the present time.

Finally, the Ministry issued a questionnaire for students' parents, to identify through it the most important challenges facing families in implementing the distance learning system.

For his part, the Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, Dr. Abdullah Al-Karam, in a message he sent yesterday to families and schools, stressed that the current conditions have greatly enhanced the social responsibility of members of society, especially students.

He added: "We will continue to work closely with the school community, to get acquainted with its plans on implementing distance learning, for the near and far future." He continued, saying that this time is the time to work together to overcome challenges.
