“Five citizens with suspected coronavirus infection have been identified in the region,” RIA Novosti quoted Savchenko as saying.
The governor said that they are being watched by medical workers.
He also added that another 2180 citizens are in quarantine mode.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, urged residents of the country to limit contacts with friends and relatives for the duration of the weekend.
