Vice President of the Ras Al Khaimah Fishermen Association, Hamid Al Zaabi, told «Emirates Today» that after taking precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus and not receiving customers in the emirate's fish markets, the price of fish decreased by up to 30%.

He added that the price of 40 kilograms of Al-Shakhibi fish arrived at the auction last Tuesday to 1300 dirhams, but that the price fell at the auction of the evening to 750 dirhams, after the decision to close the open markets, noting that the owners of the shop may not sell their prices after launching the «delivery service Domestic », because it will lose its customers, and lose because of the customers’ orientation to another shop that is committed to prices.

He pointed out that "the association launched a service to deliver fish to homes in the central fish market in Ras Al Khaimah, the fish market in Al Mairid, and most of the emirate's markets, for a fee of 15 dirhams per request."

He explained that after the decision to restrict consumers ’access to markets, the association allocated three vehicles belonging to it for home delivery services, and in coordination with the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality set the numbers for selling fish and their phone numbers and distributing them to consumers, to choose the type of fish deck that they want to buy from.

He added that the association also did the immediate delivery service for the customers waiting in the market stances by registering their requests for fish types, and the worker went to buy them from the shoals set by each customer that the worker buy them and transfer them to the cleaning department according to the customer’s desire, and then deliver them in the parking without fees Connecting.

He pointed out that between 50 and 100 requests are recorded on the home fish delivery service daily, and that some customers communicate by phone on the ductile numbers to reserve their fish a day before the date, to ensure that they are available before the quantity runs out.

He pointed out that the fish are delivered to customers in a safe and healthy way, as snow is placed on the fish, transported with the vehicles of the association and delivered to the customers as soon as possible, to ensure that it reaches fresh to preserve the health and safety of consumers.
