The Dubai Health Authority decided to allow patients who are prescribed medicines for chronic diseases, to obtain them in one go, for a period of three months, to ensure that they are not at risk of infection, due to the frequent visits to health facilities nationwide at the present time, until further notice.

In the circular, the authority stated that the patient with chronic disease can send a copy of his identity to the health facility, with the attending physician identified at least two days before the prescription renewal date, in order to enter the patient's prescription into the electronic platform in advance, taking into account the process of preparing the drug in the pharmacy, and that In order to adhere to the precautionary procedures followed, and to further facilitate the procedures for patients to obtain their medications, taking into account the requirements of protecting public health in the community, and preventing the spread of communicable diseases.

The authority stated that the medicines can be received based on providing a copy of the identity of the patient to whom the medications were prescribed, without the patient personally attending the health facility to receive the prescription or the pharmacy to receive the medication personally.

The authority stressed the need for all health facilities to adhere to what was stated in the circular, and to apply it to the fullest, and accurately, manner to protect this category of patients.
