“Of course, we want to improve relations, especially since we have valuable examples of cooperation, such as cross-border cooperation between Poland and the Kaliningrad region,” the minister said in an interview with RBC.

Chaputovich said that Russia and Poland, in particular, need to cooperate in the field of in-depth study of history, to strengthen contacts between representatives of civil society.

“I think that the cultural component should play an important role here. The exchange of cultural experience can help establish dialogue between our peoples, ”he added.

The Polish Foreign Minister also noted the need to reduce the intensity of historical disputes.

“Poland and Russia are neighboring countries, and normal relations should exist between our politicians and societies. Now these relations cannot be called good, they are tense, but we would like to improve them, ”he stressed.

Earlier, former Polish President Lech Walesa in an interview with RT said that the country needs reconciliation with Russia.

“I have long said that the era of the division of borders has long passed. Today we live in a completely different era. In the era of technology, globalization, information. I would say that now we live in the era of the word, in the era of discussion. There are completely different solutions. We need reconciliation with Russia. It is necessary to complete this stage and begin to build, ”the politician said.

According to him, if Warsaw had managed to come to an agreement with Moscow, this would shock the West.
