The «Emirates Today» monitored a violation of private schools, the decision of the Ministry of Education to suspend student activities and events until further notice, by holding heritage, food and cultural events and parties in the presence of technical teams, and schools attributed the implementation of the activities before the Ministry’s decision was issued because it did not pay attention to the decision reaching via e-mail last Sunday, only after Implementing events.

For its part, the Ministry of Education considered organizing school activities after the decision to suspend school events, trips and activities, as a violation that requires taking several measures against the school that it commits.

The Ministry informed «Emirates Today» that the inspection teams will monitor the schools to determine the extent of their commitment to implementing the decision, in order to preserve the safety of students and workers, and prevent the possibility of infection with the Corona virus, stressing that it will take strict measures against the violating schools.

The Ministry had decided to suspend internal and external student activities and events in all schools, and a circular was issued to school administrations in order to ensure the safety of students, and child custody hours were suspended from last Sunday.

The superintendent of the Shula School in Ajman, Ministerial Curriculum Branch, Issa Humaidat, said that the school was surprised by the existence of a decision by the Ministry of Education on the e-mail to stop the activities and activities after the start of the event and the presence of the students and technical teams in the school.

He explained that the school held the event due to the large number of students ’families arriving and students bringing meals that reflect the heritage of each country. The school contacted the families of students who did not attend the school and informed them of the Ministry’s decision to stop the activities in order to preserve the general health of the students.

He added, "The event was previously prepared for female students, and as soon as we learned of the Ministry's decision, the event was shortened and limited to a number of female students and their families present in the school."

He pointed out that the event was supposed to be for two days and was shortened on the first day and the second was canceled, in compliance with the Ministry’s decision.

The headmaster of a private school in Ras Al-Khaimah, who declined to be named, said that the ministry’s decision arrived at the school’s email on Sunday morning and the activities were prepared a week before the decision, so the activities were held before the official in charge of the email, which did not enable the school to stop the activities And activities only after seeing the e-mail after three hours have passed since the start of the event.

She added that the activities of the open day were for students of the first episode in order to introduce them to different cultures, and other schools were not invited to participate or bring meals from outside the school, and the event and activities were shortened to three hours instead of five in compliance with the ministry’s decision.

She pointed out that the arrival of the Ministry’s decision at the beginning of the school day confused the activities and activities that the school was planning to establish and calculate within the behavioral grades, adding that the school transformed the activities and events into interactive classes among students in order to compensate them for the activities that were suspended.

The director of a private school in Sharjah, who declined to be named, said that the school did not violate the Ministry’s decision to suspend events and activities, but learned of the decision late in the course of the event for students, which made the school complete activities and events last Sunday and canceled all the activities scheduled during the coming period.

He added that the activities were held in the school theater on the heritage uniform of the students participating in the first stage, explaining that canceling the event immediately may affect the happiness of the students, therefore the school was forced to complete the event with a shortening of its programs to avoid students' confusion, indicating that the students and their families were told to cancel the activities Coming.
