Many spectators went to see the invisible man in theaters in the United States and Canada this weekend, propelling the feature film "Invisible Man" at the head of the North American box office.

The film, adapted from the famous novel by HG Wells, garnered for its release 28.2 million dollars in revenue from Friday to Sunday, according to final figures published Monday by the specialized company Exhibitor Relations.

Welcomed by American critics, it tells the story of a young woman (Elisabeth Moss) whose boyfriend (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) seems to come to haunt her after her alleged suicide.

"Invisible Man" relegates to second place "Sonic", the feature film dedicated to the blue ball of the Japanese group Sega, one of the most famous video game characters in the world, with 16.2 million dollars, and a total of 128.5 million in three weeks.

In third place we find "The Call of the forest" with 13.4 million. The film, in which Harrison Ford plays, is freely adapted from the classic novel by Jack London. It has made $ 46 million in North American box office revenue since its release two weeks ago.

"My Hero Academia 2", a Japanese manga film, following the adventures of the teenager Izuku Midoriya, is fourth with 5.8 million on the first weekend of release and 9.1 million including the previews.

Fifth, still prominently despite seven weeks on the screens, "Bad Boys for Life", third installment in the famous police saga tinged with humor with Will Smith, won $ 4.4 million and $ 197.4 million in total .
