Chinanews.net, February 29th. According to foreign media reports, Iceland confirmed on the 28th that an Icelandic man returning from a holiday in northern Italy was diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia, which was the first case of new crown pneumonia in Iceland.

The Icelandic Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergency Management stated in a statement that at about 1 pm local time on the 28th, the man was confirmed to be infected with the new crown pneumonia virus, and the man was subsequently isolated in the National University Hospital of Iceland.

"The man is not seriously ill but shows typical symptoms," an Icelandic government agency said in a statement. The man recently visited northern Italy but did not travel to the identified danger zone.

Authorities said efforts were being made to track the route of infection of the virus and anyone who had come in contact with the Icelandic patient.
