As Wimon noted at a meeting of the French Senate Commission on Foreign Affairs, statistics show that while the EU countries adhered to these restrictions, trade between Russia and the United States only grew, and the Russian-Chinese partnership was significantly strengthened.

“In any case, after the first year of introducing illegal restrictive measures, the growth rate of trade between Russia and the EU countries began to decrease, and the growth rate of trade between Russia and the United States began to increase. A year has passed after they introduced anti-Russian restrictive illegal measures, this trend began to be traced, ”the senator explained.
He added that if we compare the trade turnover that Russia had with the EU countries in 2013, with the trade turnover that was in 2016-2017 and is currently there, we can see that its volume per day has decreased.
