From February 20, Russia will temporarily stop the passage of Chinese citizens across the state border. The corresponding decision was reported by the operational headquarters to prevent the importation and spread of new coronavirus infection in Russia.

The order concerns citizens of China entering the territory of Russia "for the purpose of carrying out labor activities, for private, educational and tourist purposes," the report said.

Along with this, the acceptance of documents, registration and issuance of entry invitations for Chinese citizens who intend to arrive in Russia for work are suspended. Similar measures apply to permits to attract and use foreign workers and work permits to these citizens located outside the territory of the Russian Federation.

In addition, from February 19, the reception of documents, registration and issuance of invitations for Chinese residents to enter Russia for private and educational purposes are temporarily stopped.

It is noted that these restrictions will not affect transit passengers.

The condition of Russians evacuated from China

Shortly before that, it became known that the quarantined COVID-2019 was not detected in quarantined people in Tyumen, the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor said in a statement. We are talking about the Russians and CIS citizens evacuated from China in early February.

An outbreak of a new type of coronavirus was reported by Chinese authorities in late December 2019. The World Health Organization recognized the spread of the new disease as a situation of international importance and assigned the virus the designation COVID-2019.

According to the latest data, more than 72.4 thousand infected have been recorded in mainland China, more than 1.8 thousand people have died. According to WHO, almost 800 cases of COVID-2019 were reported outside of China, in three cases the infected died.

In Russia, two cases of infection were detected. Both patients subsequently recovered.

Meanwhile, the WHO said they did not have data on the transmission of COVID-2019 from person to person. An exception is the situation on the Diamond Princess quarantined airliner.

The Russian Ministry of Health said that Russian citizens who were suspected of being infected with the coronavirus on the Diamond Princess ship are being given assistance.
