President Donald Trump was challenged in the state by Bill Weld, former governor of the neighboring state of Massachusetts, on who will be the party's presidential candidate in the November election.

An election poll conducted by Edison Research shows that the incumbent president gets 86.6 percent of the vote - thus outclassing his rival, who managed to scrap just over 8 percent of the vote. An additional 2.8 percent is predicted to go to candidates whose names are written on the ballot by hand.
