The number of deviations has increased despite the new law on mobile bans behind the steering wheel and despite the fact that bus drivers in Värmland are bound to tougher rules than the law requires.
In addition to the new law, the drivers are not even allowed to talk on the phone with headsets. Traffic control should be contacted via the bus's own communication system.
- We do not want any cases where you use cell phones where you drive, says Markus Bergman, traffic manager at Värmlandstrafiken, who says that on the whole there are no high figures given that Värmlandstrafken runs around 400,000 trips a year.
