A Chinese inspection authority announced Friday, Friday, to open an investigation following the death of a doctor who was the first to warn against the Coronavirus, and was reprimanded by the authorities, while the number of deaths from the virus reached 636.

The commission said in a statement that the investigation team will go to Wuhan, the epicenter of the virus, where doctor Li Wenliang died "to conduct a thorough investigation of the doctor-related issues raised by people."

The 34-year-old ophthalmologist died early Friday, as Wuhan Central Hospital announced on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, which sparked outrage and grief in the midst of a crisis in China caused by the Corona virus, which has so far killed 636 people.

Lee was among the 8 doctors the police chased for talking about the spread of a virus similar to the SARS virus (acute respiratory syndrome) on social media in December.

The mysterious virus appeared on December 12, 2019 in the Chinese city of Wuhan (center), but Beijing officially revealed it in mid-January.

Last week, the World Health Organization declared an emergency on an international scale to counter the outbreak of the virus, which later spread to several countries, causing panic throughout the world.

And 25 countries confirmed cases of HIV infection on their lands, which first appeared in a wild animal market in Wuhan.

Trump's call
In this context, Chinese President Xi Jinping assured his US counterpart Donald Trump on Friday that his country was "fully capable" of overcoming the new Corona virus, according to official media reports.

Xi told Trump that China was waging a "people's war" against the virus through "national mobilization" and "strict measures to prevent and control" Corona, according to comments reported by national television, "CCTV".

For its part, the official Xinhua news agency reported that Xi also called on the United States to make a response to the spread of the virus "logical".

The White House said that Trump expressed his "confidence" in China's ability to tackle the emerging coronavirus during his talks with his Chinese counterpart.

On Monday, China strongly criticized the United States for imposing restrictions on Chinese citizens entering its territories because of Corona, and accused Washington of "spreading panic" because of its response to the spread of the virus.
