Arab foreign ministers today announced their rejection of the American peace plan, at the conclusion of a meeting of the League of Arab States in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

This Arab rejection of the peace plan presented by US President Donald Trump a few days ago came just a short time after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced today cutting off all relations with Israel and the American administration, including security relations.

The Arab League Council’s decision stated that “the American-Israeli deal of the century was unanimously rejected, as it does not meet the minimum rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people, and violates the terms of reference of the peace process based on international law and United Nations resolutions.”

The decision also included, according to the statement, "a warning that Israel would implement the terms of the deal, ignoring international legitimacy decisions ... and calling on the international community to confront any measures taken by the occupation government on the ground."

The Arab foreign ministers' decision affirmed "full support for the struggle of the Palestinian people and its national leadership ... in facing this deal and any deal that undermines the rights of the Palestinian people."

An emergency meeting at the level of foreign ministers at the Arab League, and in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, discussed this morning Trump's US peace plan.

The plan - which was rejected by the Palestinian Authority and all the resistance factions - includes the establishment of a dispersed Palestinian state linked by bridges and tunnels, and to make occupied Jerusalem the undivided capital of Israel.
