Paris SG crushed Montpellier (5-0) on Saturday during the 22nd day of Ligue 1, temporarily consolidating its place as leader before the move of its runner-up Marseille to Bordeaux on Sunday (9:00 p.m.), while Monaco lost in Nîmes (2-1) after leading the score.

. Paris regale, Mbappé upset

Neymar did not score but, for many weeks already, it is still he who provided the "show" at the Parc des Princes. Before going to celebrate his 28th birthday on Sunday, the Brazilian "crack" ensured the spectacle as well on the ground - small bridge, feints galore and delicious passes - as outside, between chambering with his "friend" Andy Delort on social networks and pats with the referee.

After the opening score of Pablo Sarabia (8th) and the exclusion of Montpellier goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud (18th), the Parisians, in numerical superiority, then weighed down the mark by Angel Di Maria (41st), a goal against his camp by Daniel Congré (45th), Kylian Mbappé (57th) and Layvin Kurzawa (65th).

Thomas Tuchel took advantage of the large score to blow his late executives Marco Verratti, Sarabia and Mbappé, less than three weeks before traveling to Dortmund in the Champions League. A choice that did not please the French world champion who had a lively explanation with his coach when leaving the field.

"These are not good images," said Tuchel at a press conference. "It is not good because it opens up subjects, it is a distraction (...) I am not angry but I am sad because it is not necessary".

The coaching of the German technician nevertheless allowed the Park to review on the field his darling, Edinson Cavani, ovationed at his entry into play despite his desire to join Atlético Madrid this winter.

. Monaco goes crazy, Toulouse breathes

The inevitable Wissam Ben Yedder, author of his 15th goal of the season in L1, thought he had put ASM on the road to victory in Nîmes. But as too often this season, Monaco (13th, 29 pts) has scuttled inexplicably.

After the equalization of Florian Miguel (27th), Monaco lost its nerves, like Tiémoué Bakayako, excluded for a bad gesture, and Gelson Martins, also sanctioned with a red card in stride, for having jostled the referee (32nd). Romain Philippoteaux (62nd) then Pablo Martinez (79th) scored the victory goals for the Nîmes. Podium dreams are fading for Monaco.

The other event of the evening is the draw from Toulouse to Amiens (0-0). A point that has become so rare after 11 defeats in a row in the league. The TFC (20th, 13 pts) remains however red lantern with six points behind its adversary, barrage.

In the podium race, Lille (4th, 34 pts) suffered on the Strasbourg lawn but ended up ending their series of three defeats in a row in L1 to snatch a precious success (2-1). It was Victor Osimhen on penalty (80th) who offered the victory to his team at the end of the match.

Reims (7th, 32 points), who knocked down Angers after being led a long time (4-1), solidified his presence at the top of the ranking.

At the bottom of the table, Dijon, winner of Brest (3-0), left the red zone to reach 16th place in the ranking and make the right move for the evening.
